Saving the environment takes time, motivation and energy
that we don’t always have. The only question we can ask from ourselves is how sustainable
the sustainability is? And why it should be sustained?
We are a group of students from Australian College
of Business and Technology (Colombo), Sri Lanka, who are assigned to do an enormous
industry project on Environmental sustainability. The topic of environmental
sustainability covers many of the behaviors that fit within the employability
skill of social responsibility and accountability. It is a challenge for organizations
in the 21st century. Often the concept of “going green” is seen as a
costly exercise in the short term; however, when embraced effectively,
strategies which promote environmental sustainability can have significant long
term effects on an organization’s economic and social success.
As a team our objective is to identify, implement
and evaluate many strategies to improve an organization’s environmental
sustainability practices by working effectively with each other in ways of applying
task collaboration; conflict management and negotiation skills and generating
innovative ideas.
