Tasks

As of the meetings we had, we chose Ran Ruwan Company Pvt Ltd in Hokandara, a Gem Business company, "giving, living, shining"; who wishes to adopt environmental sustainability strategies  for their organization. 

Gem industry have been one of the oldest industry that started off thousands of years back which have a history that is craved in legends. It creates both direct and indirect job opportunities for people who lives in Sri Lanka, mostly in Ratnapura district.

Environmental issues related to gem industry as we identified are mainly soil erosion and sedimentation, destruction of river banks and pollution of surface water bodies etc... which cause damage to the public and the private property.  In order to minimize the damage and risk that can be resulted due to the environmental issues, we are undertaking few strategies including long term and short term goals.
